Chapter 292
Joshua locked eyes with Chris, his voice steady but determined. "I'll swap places with her. You make sure she gets out safely."
Chris let out a chuckle that was both charming and sinister. "Aren't lovebirds supposed to stick together through thick and thin? Why split when the going gets tough?"
Ignoring Chris, Joshua gently cradled Allison in his arms, careful not to aggravate her wounds. Her body was marked with cuts-thankfully not too deep, but still bleeding and staining her clothes. The sight broke Joshua's heart.
In a tone that left no room for debate, Joshua stated, "I'll take her downstairs. You ensure she's safely out of here."
Even as he spoke, he swiftly moved with Allison in his arms.
Simultaneously, a red laser dot appeared on Chris's forehead.
The same red dots marked the foreheads and chests of Chris's men.
"You brought snipers, you sly son of a-!" Chris erupted, spotting the dots on his
crew.
Joshua smirked, a hint of triumph in his eyes.
Chris's men exchanged confused looks, clearly caught off guard by Joshua's hidden ace.
"Seriously? Didn't anyone check that he was alone?" one henchman grumbled under his breath.
"He was alone, honestly," another protested.
"Then what's up with these snipers?"
"This is..."
Chris had danced this dance before. Surprised at first, he quickly regained his composure and shrugged it off. "That's the Joshua I know. If you'd come alone for
a woman, you wouldn't have been worth my time."
But Chris wasn't without his own
safeguards. However, with Chrisnet
exposed and Joshua's allies hidden, ready to act, the advantage had shifted against Chris.
Yet, Chris stayed cool, his demeanor unfazed.
Just then, a helicopter approached, hovering at the level of the twenty-sixth floor where they stood.
The helicopter came from the direction of the rising sun. Allison squinted against the bright morning light, glancing back.
Then she heard it.
"Allison..." The voice was familiar, but laced with fear.
Allison's eyes went wide.
Lizzy was being held by a burly guy, like she was nothing more than a ragdoll, brought into view.
Close enough for Allison to see the fear etched into Lizzy's face.
Allison's face turned pale, her blood freezing in her veins.
After Allison lost contact, Javier and Linda had
been searching
leaving Lizzy at the Owens
without protection.
SV
Linda had put Lizzy to bed before leaving, not knowing that Chris's men would
soon invade and snatch her away.
Chris had come from the States with
a team of mercenaries, sending

Lizzy someone regular security
couldn't handle.
Chris grinned at Allison and Joshua. "What do you think will happen if we toss her from up here?"
"No! Don't you dare lay a finger on her!" Allison rasped, her voice raw with desperation.noveldrama
Chris laughed, his voice slicing through the tension. "Tell your man to let us walk, or your sister will be pavement art."
What do you think?
