Goodbye, Mr. Regret

Chapter 398

Yates handed Timothy the file, which contained all the details about the movie.

Timothy opened it, scanning the first few pages.

Vince raised an eyebrow. "What's this movie that's got you so invested?"

"It's a film that could break the box office record for animated features in the country."

Yates had a sharp eye for film and television investments, and with his own chain of theaters, he'd made a fortune over the years.

Vince was surprised. If Yates was speaking so highly of it, the movie must have serious potential.

Timothy hadn't expected it to be an animated film. He skimmed through the information, relying on his years of financial instinct, and found his gut feeling matched Yates's assessment.

He closed the file. "Would you consider letting me take this one?"

"Letting you?" Yates arched an eyebrow. "What are you asking for exclusive rights to invest, with Sheila's name as the lead?"

"Yeah."

Years ago, Sheila had saved his life. Ever since, Timothy had been waiting for the right moment to help her achieve something big in her career.

He'd nearly arranged everything perfectly this time, but Jessica had suddenly jumped ship and joined Mr. Smith's team.

Timothy knew Mr. Smith well-he admired Jessica's talent and would no doubt keep working with her.

With Mr. Smith and Ines backing her, Jessica's future was limitless.

Timothy understood the animation industry well; it had enormous potential, but very few ever made it to the top.

There was a huge gap between the elite and everyone else. Jessica was only twenty-seven—no, Salome, she was twenty-six. Once she hit her stride, she'd be a top name in the industry for years to come.

For Sheila, breaking through would be much tougher.

She loved animation so much that even a brief moment in the spotlight would let her leave her mark.

That's why Timothy wanted exclusive rights to handle the film's post-production marketing investment-for Sheila.

Vince's chest tightened with frustration.

Yates, on the other hand, didn't seem bothered. Timothy's affections didn't affect his own interests much.

Vince gave a cold laugh. "Timothy, you amaze me. How do you have the nerve to

stay married? You do realize your wife works in animation too?"

Timothy explained, "She's Ines's star protégé, practically the person Mr. Smith has been waiting for. I've seen her work even without this film, nothing can dim her brilliance. All I'm doing is giving Sheila a chance before Jessica's big break is that really so wrong?"

"Have you ever thought about how she might feel about it?"

Vince genuinely felt for Jessica.noveldrama

"A true genius doesn't care about things like this," Timothy replied flatly.

That was how he saw it.

He never minded others in his field getting a leg up-because, with or without help, they wouldn't surpass him.

So what was there to mind?

Vince let out a string of cold laughs, suddenly standing up. One hand on his hip, hejabbed a finger at Timothy "I must be out of my mind to everthink you cared about her, or that you two had any chance of getting back together. Frankly, she'd be better off with Herbertthan with you."

With that, Vince kicked his chair aside and stormed out.
