"I'm not worthy of him! Lily pushed Hazel away.

Hazel lost her balance, stumbling backward and colliding with a passerby. This was the first time Lily had physically pushed her, leaving her stunned.

"I really am not worthy. Not only am I not worthy of being his sister, I'm also not worthy of being your daughter. So why are you even here?"

Lily didn't want to say anything harsh in front of Hayden, knowing he could hear some things now. She opened the car door, intending to let him get in.

But Hazel quickly rushed up again, grabbing hold of him. "What are you talding him home for? Are you giving up on treatment? Are you trying to ruin the Joyner family?

Her voice was raised high, and people passing by couldn't help but stop and stare, some even stopping to take pictures and videos.

Lily lowered her voice and wamed, "You better stop if you don't want the Joyner family scandal to spread,"

After driving for awhile, Lily pulled over on the side of the road. She turned to look at Hayden, who was leaning against the right car door, wearing the down jacket that Rowan had given him. Having just left the hospital, he still smelled strongly of disinfectant.

Hazel kept a good distance from him, sitting on the opposite side of the car. When the car stopped, she leaned toward Lily and said, "You're taking him home? He'll be a fool for the rest of his life!"

"If you don't want him to be a fool, you can pay for the treatment and send him back to the hospital," Lily replied coldly.

Seeing that Hazel was about to say something else, she cut her off. "If you're not paying, shut up and get out."

Hazel hesitated, looking at Hayden with a mix of pity and helplessness.

"Your dad is cruel, but are you just as cruel? If it weren't for Hayden protecting you, your dad would have kicked you out of the Joyner family when you secretly changed your university application! He's been so good to you!".

Lily had heard these words so many times that she was tired of it. She could clearly remember how good Hayden had been to her, but the better he treated her, the colder she felt toward her parents.

"It's my fault for not being capable. If you were a son, I wouldn't have needed to give birth to a second one. Now look at what you've done. Your dad no longer looks at me favorably, and Hayden can't be saved"

As Hazel spoke, her tears fell in torrents. She felt more wronged than Lily. She used the moral coercion tactic, and it felt like she was pushing Lily to her breaking point.

"It's all my fault. You shouldn't have given birth to me. From now on... you can pretend I'm not your daughter.

"If you won't save Hayden, I will. But my ability is limited. If you can't bear to see him suffer, find him the money and send him back to the hospital. If you can't bear that, leave us alone."

Lily unlocked the car door, her voice colder and more serious than ever. "Get

Her attitude made Hazel panic. "What do you mean? You really don't "

"Aside from Hayden, I don't need anyone else," Lily interrupted.

In the end, Hazel got out of the car in tears. Once she was out, she called Bobby. "Honey, Lily really doesn't have any money. She really can't do anything about Xavier either. We need to get Hayden back to the hospital for treatment immediately..." "I've checked. They're not divorced yet. She'll never retum to the Fulton family if you don't push her. Hayden's condition isn't a terminal one. It won't kill him if we delay a little. She'll eventually give in!"

He was confident that Lily would soften. He was sure of his judgment-she would never abandon Hayden.

Even if she couldn't return to the Fulton family, she would find a way to treat Hayden. As for what that way would be... he didn't care as long as his goal was achieved.
