The sound of the wind made Bruce's voice sound jumbled, but Lily heard it clearly. She was stunned for a few seconds before she recalled that she had actually given Xavier's number to Bricenoveldrama

Lily gasped. She immediately grabbed Xavier's phone and said, "Don't call me again! We're not suited for each other!"

She hung up the phone, blocked Bruce, and handed the phone back to Xanter.

"That's it?" Xavier's tone was icy.

The ring of light from the street lamps cast a shadow over his eyes, and his gaze was dark and unreadable.

Bruce's messages from the entire afternoon had sullied his eyes and his phone.

"I'm sorry. It wasn't on purpose. Brice insisted on getting my contact before he would let me go, and your number was the one I remembered best," Lily explained sheepishly. Xavier found it ridiculous. "If that's the case, I shouldn't blame you, but I should be touched that you have remembered my number so well?"

He never bothered to argue when he was in the right, let alone when he was in the wrong.

Lily stood in front of him with her eyes lowered. She could feel his anger engulfing her. A simple apology wouldn't dispel his anger, so she could only offer a definitive solution

"If he calls from a different number, you can tell him he has gotten the wrong number. Give him my number after that."

"Why should I tell him? Xavier looked down at her. "Are you planning to keep in touch with him and let him speak to you with such vulgar language?"

Xavier was so domineering that Lily felt inexplicably small and Inferior standing before him.

She frowned lightly and looked up at him. "Didn't you say I was causing you trouble? You can be rid of him if you give him my number. Plus, you should be happy that he's Insulting me with such filthylanguage. "After all, you really hate me too."

"When did I..." Xavier's words got caught in his throat, and he didn't finish his sentence. He wondered when he had ever hated Lily.

He picked on her when nothing was wrong and found fault with her when there was none, all just to make things difficult for her.

Lily remained silent. Bruce was indeed a problem, but she wasn't sure if Xander would really help her solve it. Even if he did, it would be because he feared she would cheat on him.

Xavier wasn't afraid of her causing a fuss, but seeing her standing there so quietly, letting him reprimand her as he pleased, made him inexplicably anxious.

Just as the two of them were locked in a stalemate, Xavier's phone suddenly rang again. It was just as Lily predicted, Bruce changed to a new number and called again.

Xavier's expression darkened again, and he muted his phone. "Lily, don't let this happen again. If I catch you on another blind date-"

"You'll destroy the Joyners, target Hayden, and stop me from going to the competition." Lily finished the sentence for him.

The nighttime wind howled as Lily's long hair was blown against her face. She was huddled in her down jacket, and the tip of her nose was red from the cold. She looked pitiful yet infuriating. Xavier gritted his teeth so hard that there was sound

"I let you deal with Bruce. Don't worry, I won't go on anymore blind dates," Lily said softly.

Her sudden obedience made Xavier's anger subside significantly
