Chapter 569 Let Me Give You a Massage
Anna was stunned. Everything around her overwhelmed her mind, making it impossible to think. How could something like this have happened between her and Taylor?
Not to mention the grudges between the Sander and Carlyn families-he was the one who had raised her. Although they weren't blood relatives, in Anna's heart, she always considered him a brother and nothing more.
But...
Fragmented memories surfaced in her mind. It wasn't Taylor's fault. From beginning to end, she had been the one who initiated everything.
She didn't blame him. If anything, he had always treated her well. It was just hard for her to accept what had just happened.
She wasn't a child anymore, easily coaxed with a few words. Gone were the days when a simple promise could keep her content on a secluded island for years.
Now, her only thought was to return to the Sanders. They were destined to stand on opposite sides. How could there be anything more between them?
Tears welled up and soaked her lashes, dripping onto Taylors' skin. "Anna, is something wrong?" He raised his hand to wipe away her tears. Anna remained silent, tears kept falling. Seeing her like this broke his heart. "Anna, don't scare me. Don't keep things to yourself-tell me what's wrong?" Taylor cupped her face, looking into her glassy eyes, full of concern as he asked, "Did I do something wrong, did I hurt you?"
Meeting Taylor's worried gaze, Anna pursed her lips and whispered, "Taylor, I'm sorry, I was affected by the effects of the drug at the time, I really lost my mind, I ... I didn't want it to be like that."
Taylor gently patted her back. "Anna, you don't need to blame yourself. In fact, I have liked you for a long time. What happened yesterday was my choice. As I have said, I will take care of you from now on."
Anna's eyes widened in shock. "Taylor, what are you saying?"
Taylor met her gaze, speaking slowly, "Anna, I like you. I want to take care of you for the rest of my life."
If she hadn't known about his feelings, maybe she could have brushed everything off. But now, knowing the truth, Anna wasn't happy. She couldn't accept it.
"I've always seen you as my brother," she said, her voice trembling. "And you ... you've had feelings for me all this time?"
Anna's mind was too pure, too straightforward. Taylor hadn't expected her reaction to be so intense. He quickly tried to explain. "Anna, it's not like that. Even though I love you, I never-"
"Don't touch me. You're disgusting." She shoved him away with all her strength.
Taylor stared blankly at his hand, stunned, unsure how to mend the rift that had just torn between them.
He truly hadn't expected Anna to react this way after waking up.
He said softly, "Anna, even though I have told you I love you, I never thought about making you mine."
Anna pushed him away, her voice tight. She said, "I need some time alone."noveldrama
Once Taylor left the room, Anna could no longer hold back. Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
The image of Sadie dying on the operating table was still fresh in her mind. How could she have crossed that¶ne with someone from the Carlyn family?
Her family would never forgive her, and she could never forgive herself.
Anna wasn't naive. She knew Taylor all too well. Even though his love for her had come as a shock, she wasn't blind to what kind of man he was.
She had said those harsh words not because she hated him, but because she
needed him to understand that they could never be together.
There was a blood feud between the Sander and Carlyn families, too deep to ever bridge.
She didn't hate Taylor at all. She hated herself for being powerless.
All she could do was watch helplessly as the Sanders fell deeper into ruin,
replaying the image of Sadie dying on the operating table.
She had to escape. Her mind raced. She thought back to her previous escapezattempts, and how Taylor always managed to find her almost instantly. Something didn't sit right with her.
It could be explained as coincidence if he had only found her once or twice. But
how had he pinpointed that gang's hideout so precisely?
Anna touched the necklace around her neck. It was a birthday gift from Taylor. He gave it to her the year she left the island.
There had to be a tracker inside.
That was why, no matter where she went the airport, the city streets-he always found her.
If she took it off suddenly, he'd get suspicious. For now, she had to keep wearing it. But she knew she had to escape as soon as possible-otherwise, she might never get another chance,
Anna made up her mind. She waited quietly until Taylor returned. His eyes filled
with concern the moment he saw her tear-streaked face.
"Don't cry, Anna," he said, his voice full of guilt. "I'm so sorry. You haven't eaten for
a whole day and night. Let's get some food, alright?"
That was exactly what Anna had been waiting for. She sniffled and nodded, her expression pitiful.
"Good girl," he said gently. "What do you want to eat? I'll have the hotel send it up."
Anna wanted to escape, but right now, she had no strength left. Her legs still ached, her body sore. For now, she had no choice but to play along.
After eating, Taylor suggested taking her home. But she knew the house was surrounded by surveillance cameras.
If she went back, there'd be no escaping again. She quickly came up with an excuse.
"Taylor ... my legs hurt. My back's sore too. I don't want to go anywhere."
Thinking back to last night's madness, Taylor's ears flushed with embarrassment.
"Do you want me to give you a massage?" he asked, his voice tinged with awkwardness.
What do you think?
