Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 414

Adam couldn't have cared less. He granted the director's request without a second thought.

Who did Jean think she was? She hadn't made any special contributions to the country or the city. She wasn't in the military either; she was just a manipulative woman who Brad had feelings for. There was no way she was entitled to an entire floor.

The once peaceful VIP floor was now bustling with activity as patients were admitted to the rooms on either side of hers, adding to her misery after a sleepless night. Jean had always been a light sleeper, easily awakened by the slightest noise.

The noise from the other patients made it impossible for her to sleep. Even if she did manage to fall asleep, she would be jolted awake soon after. This was nothing short of torture for Jean.

She had thought about calling Brad to complain. Yet, after everything that happened that morning, she no longer had the courage and could only grit her teeth in endurance.

Lynn noticed that Jean had bitten her lower lip so hard it was bleeding. As such, she hastily brought over a cotton swab to stop the bleeding. "Ms. Sawyer, you're bleeding!"

Jean cast a cold, indifferent look at the cotton swab in Lynn's hand and turned her head away, refusing her help. "I don't need it!"

Lynn had intended to console her, but when she noticed how irritable Jean was, she decided against it and left the room. A wave of sadness washed over Jean as she stared at the empty ward.

Adam was unmoved when he was informed about Jean's situation. "This is just the beginning. There's plenty more suffering in store for her. And as long as she's willing to endure it, she'll go through a lot worse. Be sure to help her out."

Whether this "help" was genuine or not, no one could tell.

Besides Brad, Nadine was also in the spotlight. Oddly enough, both of them went completely silent, as if they had disappeared off the face of the earth. The netizens waited patiently but to no avail.

Christmas marked the start of the coldest month of the year.

Nadine clocked out and rushed to Adam's ward to pick Sean up. She didn't have a wink of sleep last night and was now so exhausted that hèr eyelids were fighting to stay open. All she wanted to do was pick Sean up and go home to get some rest.

When she saw Adam, she greeted him cheerfully and tried to act as if nothing had happened. "Grandpa, you look great today! Have you been taking your medicine on time?"noveldrama

Before he could respond, she added, "Grandpa, you better not lie to me! I can tell when you're not telling the truth!"

Adam's eyes lit up when he saw her. Holding Sean's little hand, he walked over to her. "I can't believe you're messing with this old man as soon as you walk into the room, you little troublemaker. With you breathing down my neck, how could possibly forget to take my medicine?"

At this moment, Sean spread his arms wide and ran into Nadine's embrace. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he asked sweetly, "What took you so long, Mommy? I've been waiting for you forever!"

Nadine crouched down, scooped him up, and kissed his soft cheek. "I'm so sorry, baby. A patient I was responsible for had to be taken to the emergency room last night, so I had to leave you with Grandpa Adam."

The little Sean was very understanding. Hugging her neck, he planted a kiss on her cheek and said, "I know, Mommy. You're out saving people you're amazing! I'm not mad at you at all!" Touched, Nadine hugged her son tightly and gave him another kiss.

Just then, a discordant voice rang out. "Grandpa!"
