"No, this is just human nature. To be honest, Charlotte wants to treat you to a meal. She was too shy to do so one-on-one, so she brought Isabelle with her. You get me?"

Upon hearing that this was Charlotte's doing, I was even more dissuaded.

This woman was insane. I'd saved her multiple times but she viewed me in disdain. Charlotte treated people based on their family status. If my family was poor, it didn't matter what I did. If I hailed from a good family, I didn't need to save her to be treated like a king.

I was also uninterested in Charlotte.

She was Lina's friend. In the beginning, she was always with Lina. I fell in love with Lina at first sight. After all, she was cute and obedient. I wasn't interested in the cool girl who looked down on me.

With what she did to be in the future, it further reduced my willingness to give a damn about her.

"However, I don't know why he's pretending to be poor. I'd like to use this opportunity to get close to him and observe."

I stopped eavesdropping. I walked toward them and said, "Isabelle, you wanted to see me."

Isabelle got up immediately and pulled me over to take a seat. "You're here. It wasn't me who wanted to see you. Charlotte has something to say to you."
