The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 100

Chapter 100:.

“I have something to do, I’ll be back at the company tomorrow afternoon.” After hanging up the phone, Joseph stepped on the accelerator and headed straight for the highway.

It was already dark. GX City was two hundred kilometers away from N City. Joseph did not stop the car the whole way, after more than two hours, he arrived at the hospital.

As soon as he reached the door of the ward, he heard Hayden’s screams coming from inside.

“What are you doing? Let go of me.”

Without even thinking, Joseph immediately opened the door and rushed inside.

On the hospital bed, the man with a gauze on his head was wrapping his hands around Hayden’s waist. Even though he had gauze on, you could still tell he was quite handsome. Hayden struggled to wriggle free, but surprisingly the man jumped off the bed and reached out again toward Hayden.

Joseph’s face changed and he moved forward. He grabbed the man’s neck from behind while with his other hand he pulled the man’s arm behind his back. The man screamed miserably.

“Hey, let him go quick, he’s just been patched up. You can’t do this to him.” Hayden continued, “Let him go quick.”

Joseph scowled and threw him down on the bed, speaking in a cold tone. “This kind of scoundrel doesn’t deserve to survive a car accident.”

That ‘scoundrel’ understood what Joseph meant and was scared out of his wits. He hastily crawled on the bed and wrapped the blanket tightly around himself, revealing only a pair of eyes.

Only then was there silence in the room.

Hayden breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Joseph. His mood was somewhat complicated, “Why are you here?”

“An employee of my company has run over someone, so I came to take a look, in case someone takes this opportunity to spread some news that I hurt the company.”

Joseph responded with self-assurance and his tone was somewhat aggressive. He was actually intimidating Hayden who had been out of work for a long time and did not know that the group had a special team of publicists in charge of such matters.

“The police have clearly investigated. My car has a tape recorder and it’s true that he suddenly got out himself, so I couldn’t hit the brakes in time. But at the time, I was looking at the navigation on my phone so I also made a mistake… I’m sorry.”

Hayden really thought he was here to scold her for doing something wrong.

Joseph frowned and looked slightly impatient, “Why are you apologizing? I heard from your assistant that he’s just a bum Is he?”.

The person on the bed looked blond and tall. Other than looking a little silly, he didn’t look like a bum at all.

Hayden was also a little confused. “When I hit him at the time, he was really dressed in a raggedy way and looked like he hadn’t showered in a long time, his whole body stank. After the examination, the doctor said he has blood clots in his brain and apparently they were there before I hit him.”

“You have hit a person whose brain is abnormal.” Joseph’s words summed up the current situation.

“What about his relatives, have you been able to contact them?”.

Hayden shook his head, “There is no contact information for him.”

“After he recovers from his injuries, send him to the temporary shelter in the city.” Joseph spoke directly and concisely. He decided where this ‘drifter’ would go with a single sentence.

“I don’t think it should be like this. After all, I’m the one who hit him, so I should find out where he came from. It is possible that his relatives are also looking for him and that his brain problem is caused by me.”

Hearing this, Joseph’s face darkened slightly, “As you wish.”

Seeing Joseph leaving, Hayden quickly went out. “It’s already late, where are you going?

It’s already very dark outside. You wouldn’t have any intention of rushing back to N-Town tonight, would you?

As expected, Joseph looked at her and spoke in disgust. “I’m going back. I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon, do you think I have much time?”.

The reason he had come was to see if she was okay, not to see her get in trouble.

“It’s too late.” Hayden frowned, “It’s going to rain tonight. You’d better spend the night here and leave tomorrow morning.”

In the morning, GX City had announced the arrival of a typhoon and a storm. Many roads back to N City were next to mountains. Landslides would happen very easily so it was always wise to play it safe.

“Where do I stay?”noveldrama

“This place is not far from GX City. The atmosphere of the inn I was at isn’t bad, do you want to consider it?”.

“Okay.” Joseph agreed almost unceremoniously and looked at her, saying, “Come on, I haven’t eaten yet.”

Was he being so easily swayed? Hayden froze for a moment and quickly followed Joseph.

As they left the hospital, thunder rumbled. Almost instantly, a curtain of rain came down from the sky and fell on the car windows. Not even the windshield wipers could clear the raindrops.

Joseph sat in Hayden’s car. The car drove the whole way slowly and leisurely. It took them more than half an hour to arrive even though the distance was only a few miles.

“This is it.”

Hayden put away the umbrella and led Joseph to the inn. He asked the clerk, “Is there any more room? Set up a room for him.”

“I’m sorry, all the rooms are reserved, Miss Downey.” The clerk had an apologetic look on his face, “Since it’s raining so hard, the tourists who were originally leaving renewed their reservations for one more night. So I guess not many inns here will have rooms available tonight.”

“Huh?” Hayden was stunned on the spot. It was awkward. She brought Joseph, but there were no more rooms….

“Miss Downey, why don’t you let your boyfriend share a room with you? The room he was in on the second floor is the largest room in this inn. It’s certainly no problem for two people to stay.” The clerk smiled meaningfully.

“He didn’t…”

“All right.” Without waiting for Hayden to deny, Joseph’s voice rang out.

Hayden’s eyes widened. Just as she was about to say something, Joseph had pulled her to walk to the second floor.

“Wait, what are you doing?” Back in the room, Hayden squeezed Joseph’s hand who was about to close the door, lowered her voice and said, “Don’t tell me you’re really going to room with me?”

“It’s you who asked me to stay one more night.” Answered Joseph certainly sure of himself.

“But I was talking about you staying in another room, isn’t it all right for you to stay in a room with me?”.

“It’s all right. I’ll sleep on the bed and you sleep on the couch.” Joseph didn’t bother her and walked straight into the room. He looked around and directly sat on the bed.

“How can you do that?” Hayden was instantly annoyed, “This is my room, why do I have to sleep on the couch?”.

“Then you sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the couch.”

“This makes more sense…”. The moment the words were spoken, Hayden wished she could slap herself. How could she be fooled so easily by his words?

“I can’t, I definitely can’t. I’ll find another place for you to stay.”

“What are you afraid of?” Joseph looked at her frankly, “Are you afraid I’ll do something to you? Don’t worry, I’m pretty picky and I’m not that hungry.”

Hearing this, Hayden was immediately irritated, “What the hell are you saying, you clearly have an ulterior motive. Don’t think I don’t know what you did to me that night in the Maldives.”

That night, even though she was dizzy and had a fever after getting wet in the rain, she knew Joseph had kissed her. Only she kept pretending she didn’t know.

After she uttered the words, there was no response in the room for a long time.

After a while, Joseph took a step closer to her. He spoke in a low, deep, mocking tone, as if lighting the cumulus fires in his mind, “So, what did I do to you that night?”
