The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 53

Chapter 53:.

“Drive. Villa Imperial, please.” As soon as Violet got into the car, she ordered the driver, completely ignoring her agent who was chasing her from the studio.

Today was the day to try on her wedding dress. She believed Joseph should know how important this day meant to her. Although they had not yet made her wedding gown, it would be custom-made after the store took her measurements. They had made an appointment with the designer, and Joseph had already postponed his schedule. How could he suddenly miss the appointment?

She suspected it might be Noah, that pesky son of Joseph’s, deliberately causing trouble again.

On the other hand, Hayden arrived at the engagement banquet.

After showing his invitation to the guard, he entered the banquet hall with the prepared gift in his hands.

The entire floor of the restaurant was reserved for the engagement banquet, which had been magnificently decorated with colorful ribbons and balloons all over the ceiling. The guests at the banquet were wealthy or powerful people.

Hayden looked around, but saw no one he knew. He didn’t usually like these kinds of occasions, so he went to a corner to enjoy the meal in silence.

In the dressing room on the second floor, a group of ladies in formal attire surrounded Michelle, the bride-to-be. They were all her college classmates, all of whom she hadn’t seen in a long time. At that moment, Michelle was like a moon surrounded by a bunch of stars, her ears full of all kinds of envious compliments.

“Michelle, I’ve always thought you were the prettiest in our group, ever since we were in college. You and Kingsley make a perfect couple.”

“Please make me your maid of honor when you get married. Maybe I can find my better half among the groomsmen.”

“You look gorgeous. I heard Kingsley asked an Italian designer to make your dress for you himself, didn’t he? It’s worth over two hundred thousand dollars isn’t it, can I touch it?”

Michelle let out a slight giggle, stroking her dress. “It’s not bad. Two hundred thousand is nothing, the important thing is that this designer wouldn’t work for normal women.”

Kingsley was completely ignored for a long moment. As he turned away and listened to Michelle’s words, he became increasingly irritated.

After lighting a cigarette, he walked down the second floor hallway while smoking. Looking at the vivid scene below with a bored face, he looked like a stranger.

“Hey, future boyfriend, why aren’t you happy?”.

His best friend, Humbert Jerome, draped his arm around Kingsley’s shoulders and jokingly asked, “You’re not sorry, are you?”

Shaking off the soot, Kingsley looked exhausted. “What if I told you yes, would you believe me?”.

Humbert was dumbfounded. “Are you playing games with me? You’ve been dating Michelle for six years-what the hell are you thinking now?”

Kingsley smiled bitterly. “Forget it, you wouldn’t understand.

Six years ago, when he was secretly dating Michelle, he found it so novel, interesting and exciting.

Compared to Hayden, Michelle was more active and had all kinds of novel tricks for him to enjoy sex. At that time, Hayden was busy with his medical experiments, so she could rarely join him. Therefore, he enjoyed it so much that he had even forgotten that Hayden was his official girlfriend.

Later, Hayden suddenly went abroad and stopped being in touch with everyone. He assumed that she might have seen him with Michelle that night, so he left heartbroken. Thinking about it, he felt guilty for a long time and also broke up with Michelle. However, Michelle continued to be kind to him as much as possible, so they reconciled.

After Michelle officially became his girlfriend, he could no longer feel the novelty after a long time. Besides, he had to put up with Michelle’s restrictions and defenses on him every day, so he couldn’t help but miss Hayden.

Humbert patted him on the shoulder, apparently he understood Kingsley’s feelings. “In fact all women are like that. At first you feel cool when you’re with them, but after a while, they’re the same. Don’t overthink it.”

Kingsley shrugged, he couldn’t agree more.

“There are so many beautiful women at the banquet today and they’re all from good families. I’m so annoyed by the blind dates arranged by my mother. I’d rather pick one pleasing to the eye.”

The haze on Kingsley’s face faded and he smiled. “Well, who have you fallen in love with? I can help you.”

“Well, that one. Isn’t she pretty.” Humbert gestured toward a corner of the second floor with a smug expression.

“Of the whole hallway, she’s the best in my opinion. Look at her perfect form. The most important thing is her presence, her maturity contains innocence…uff it would feel like being in heat to sleep with her.”

Following Humbert’s gaze, Kingsley took a casual glance at random. Then he couldn’t take his eyes off the woman.

She wore a silver-gray strapless dress, short in front and long in the back to touch the floor, revealing her slender ankles. She wore her long, wavy hair loose over her shoulders. With a plate of dessert in her hand, she leaned against the wall in the corner, enjoying her meal.

Amidst the glitz and noise, she seemed to have spread around her a peaceful, clean, pure piece of land, but inexplicably people wanted to come closer.

“I have to leave. Since no one is approaching it now, I should make the move.”

“Just a moment.” Kingsley came to, quickly grabbed Humbert to stop him. He said in a warning tone, “Stop your horse.”

“What’s the matter?”

“You can mess with any other woman at the banquet, but not her.”

Hayden finished eating three servings of dessert. The waiter next to her couldn’t help but glance at her from time to time. After all, hardly anyone came to a banquet like this just to eat.

As she was sipping her water, a familiar voice came from behind her. “Hello, Hayden.”

She turned, only to find Kingsley dressed in a white suit and neatly combed hair. Compared to his student-like appearance then, he was now much more mature and confident. At that moment, he was looking at her with excitement in his eyes.

“I can’t believe it’s really you why are you here?”.

Hayden frowned and answered directly, “Of course I came, I received the invitation from your engagement ceremony. Besides, your fiancée kept calling me to invite me. If I continually turned her down, the others might think I hold a grudge. What do you think I’m here for?”

To steal your wedding? Dream on!” her inner voice said disdainfully.

“I’m sorry.” Kingsley obviously hadn’t expected this to be the case. The excitement in his eyes faded a little. And he said more apologetically, “I didn’t know Michelle had done that, I’m sorry to have bothered you.”

Seeing that he was quite polite, Hayden felt less depressed.

“It’s nothing. It doesn’t bother me. After all, we were partners. I should have come here to send my wishes to you at your engagement ceremony, this is a gift for you.”

As he spoke, he handed her the gift box he had been carrying for some time. “It’s not expensive, but it’s my blessing to you.”

“I know.” Kingsley hurried to take it, his eyes locked on Hayden’s face. He said inexpressively, “The blessing behind the gift is more important than its price. I know.”

The last time he had met her in a hurry, he hadn’t had time to speak or look at her. Now he looked at her more closely: she had become more beautiful and graceful than six years ago. She was like a beautiful jade, which had been carved with its own dazzling pattern.noveldrama

“So, I wish you and Michelle happiness.” Hayden put on a polite smile. The only reason she came to this engagement banquet was to say goodbye to her past.

“Hayden, actually, I…”. Kingsley looked hesitant, as if extremely aggrieved, “I’ve actually missed you all these years. I’ve also asked around to find out where you were, but I didn’t get any information. How have you been all these years?”

“I’ve been pretty good.”

“Very well, then.”

Kingsley squeezed the gift box bag tightly. He couldn’t get a few words out in the nick of time, he couldn’t pronounce them anymore.

“Kingsley!”

A sweet voice was suddenly heard. They both turned around and saw Michelle coming down the stairs as she held the hem of her dress, heading towards them.

“I was wondering who Kingsley was talking to. It turned out to be you, Hayden.”
