The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2385

Even as Ocean was left feeling helpless, Derek suddenly sat up on his bed and snapped, "If you say so!"

He was enfeebled due to his illness, but the color has returned to his cheeks, clearly a sign that he was healing!

"T-That's impossible!" Walt cried, staring at Frank in disbelief.

After all, he was the one who could have saved Derek, but how could he have done it so quickly?

Walt was simply unaware that with the power of the spiritron vein, Frank could treat a variety of illnesses in no time at all, and without medicine at that.

In fact, he was already doing it as soon as he entered Derek's room.

Derek had even regained consciousness, but he was also eager to see how Frank would handle this conflict and pretended to stay asleep.

And now that Walt had confessed to his crime directly, Derek had no reason to play dead—he had to put that geezer in his place!

Shaking his head, he sighed, "My dear granduncle... I didn't think that you'd go so far as to try to kill me! Was there even a meaning to this?"

"I-It's for the sake of our family's future!" Walt snapped stubbornly.

Derek smirked, nodding. "You're right. You are thinking about the family's future, but while your thoughts are justified, what about your actions? You'd inevitably lead our family to doom-like Ocean has put it, our best shot at turning things around is with wealth, not schemes!

"With money, we could open doors that were close to us before, and doors that allow us to change our path if necessary. The path you're leading us always leads to doom, not to mention that it is completely pointless."

Walt shrugged and started to threaten Derek instead, still convinced that he had a hand to play!

"I have nothing else to say," he growled. "But you'd better think about this-if you kill me, you'd be suspected of consorting with the enemy."

Derek laughed. "Surely you jest! Who

would accuse me with Ocean as my witness? And even if they think that, would they really dare show it? Would they have proof?"

Walt was left stumped at that.

Before he could come up with another plan to bail himself out, however, Derek moved, killing him on the spot.

And judging from those empty eyes, Walt really did not want to die—but there was

no recourse when he had become an obstacle to Derek's plans for the future.

The fact that Walt also tried to usurp him with the most despicable means possible only affirmed his decision to eliminate him.

And while Walt was right that the family might suspect Derek, but what about it?

He just had to prove himself with actual results, and they would come to understand.

Turning to Frank, Derek nodded.

"Apologies for troubling you so much, Mr. Frankton. I can't even

begin to repay you after you savet

my life, but rest assured that my family won't cause further trouble for the Frankton Group. You can do whatever you like in Shagan, and you won't hear a word from us!" noveldrama

Frank nodded. "For my part, I won't interfere with any business interests your family may have. Even if there's competition between us, you won't hear a word from me if you keep it strictly business. Just remember that if you prove as despicable as he was, I won't hold back!"

Derek quickly nodded, glancing at Walt's corpse on the floor with the corner of his eye.

Why did that geezer have to go that far? Would this have happened to him if he had just cooperated with the Frankton Group like Derek had intended from the start?

Bowing his head, Derek said, "Thank you for your mercy and not hurting my family."

Frank smiled, waving him off. "Just consider it a minor punishment. And always keep in mind that I'm capable of wiping you all out by myself."

"For sure."
