Noticing Matthew's silence and the cold glare in his eyes, Dominic felt an inexplicable sense of panic rising within him.

"Um... don't be angry. We'll get the body moved today, and I'll handle it with the officials. But if you kill again, I won't be able to help with the cleanup. If you're unhappy with that, you can talk to Mr. Miles-"

Before he could finish, Matthew shot up from his seat. "Alright!"

The abruptness of his response startled Dominic, causing him to stumble back a couple of steps.

Matthew wasn't angry at all. The most pressing issue was Clement's body, and Dominic had volunteered to take care of it. Matthew felt relieved and even happy about it.

Fearing Dominic might change his mind, he quickly waved his hand. "I'm off to look for Mr. Miles and see what's going on."

With that, he strode out of the room.

From beginning to end, he had maintained a cold expression. And in just a moment, he vanished without a trace.

Dominic stood there, dazed. He hadn't expected Matthew to leave so quickly. Turning to Lucien, he asked, "Did I... say something wrong? He's not going to cause trouble with Mr. Miles, is he?"

Lucien's expression was grave. "Do you really think there's anything Matthew wouldn't dare to do?"

That made Dominic freeze in place. After all, Matthew had dealt with Horace without batting an eye. What wouldn't he dare do?noveldrama

Frowning, Lucien suggested, "Maybe you should give Mr. Miles a call to inform him."

Dominic hastily pulled out his phone and dialed Brad.

When the call connected, he said urgently, "Mr. Miles, we have a problem. Matthew said he's coming to find you."

What?

Brad was shocked. "Didn't I tell you to let him know I'm not in Lambda City? Did you accidentally slip up?"

Dominic felt lost. "I didn't! But he just left and said he was going to talk to you."

Brad cursed, "You useless fool! You must have inadvertently given something away. How am I supposed to explain this to him?"

Matthew's unique status complicated matters, and Brad felt overwhelmed by the situation. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been this angry.

Dominic was at a loss for words. Holding the phone, he was unsure what to say: He hadn't revealed anything, so how did Matthew know Brad was still in Lambda City? Vet there was a flicker of happiness in his heart.

After spending so long as a cleaner, he had grown accustomed to it. In fact, he felt a thrill every time Matthew called him to work. When Brad declared he wouldn't help

If Matthew could find Brad and persuade him to help, Dominic could continue in his role.

Realizing he wouldn't get anywhere with Dominic, Brad hung up and began pacing the room. He contemplated how to handle Matthew's arrival.

Matthew stepped out of Crystal Creek Hotel and felt a wave of relief wash over him. He wouldn't have to worry about how to dispose of Clement's body anymore.

As for finding Brad, he had only said that in passing. He had no intention of actually meeting him. He didn't even know where Brad was.

Once he reached the roadside, he flagged down a cab to head home.

Everything seemed normal when he arrived.

Ivy remained hidden in the shadows, watching over his parents' and Lorraine's safety. Although Caleb was playing poker at the community recreation center, he was still monitoring Silverbrook Village.

Nothing in the village could escape his notice.
