Chapter 814
As Nolan finished speaking, he grabbed the hard hat from the table and put it on. "Alright, enough chatting. It's almost time to get to work, so I'd better get moving."
Seeling Nolan was about to leave, Matthew quickly stopped him. "Hold on. You've got to believe me. My parents have high blood pressure, but they got better with this little tip I have. If it wasn't effective, I wouldn't even have brought it up."
Nolan chuckled. "Nowadays, no treatment comes for free. Even if you tell me, I won't dare try it. But thanks anyway."
After saying his piece, Nolan turned and was ready to leave.
Matthew hurriedly shouted, "I don't want any money. I just want to share the treatment that helped my parents. The best part is-it's completely free. You won't need to spend a dime."
Stanley and Lillian were farmers, spending their lives in the fields. Matthew knew just how hard it was for them.
Seeing Nolan fall ill like them and not get any treatment made Matthew feel terrible. A wave of sadness washed over him, and he felt his nose sting.
In truth, Stanley and Lillian didn't have high blood pressure at all. Matthew only said it to get Nolan to trust him.
Meanwhile, things were different for people like Clive. After they'd made money and found out they were dying, they would pay anything to get better and keep living.
However, Nolan would rather have a shorter life than spend his money. If he died, so be it, as long as he kept his savings.
Winning Nolan's trust wasn't easy, so Matthew had to make up a white lie.
After walking for a while, Nolan suddenly stopped in his tracks and glanced back at Matthew with a wary look. "Are you sure it won't cost me any money?"
Matthew flashed a smile at Nolan. "I just came here for a meal. We're just strangers crossing paths. I'm not going to ask you for a penny."
Beside Matthew, Tony couldn't help but smack his lips. Despite such a good opportunity to make money, Matthew wasn't charging Nolan. Matthew had seriously snatched away his business.
It wasn't about the money itself, but Tony didn't have anything to pay for the meal. How was he supposed to handle the embarrassment?
Nolan explained, "It's not that I don't trust you. These days, there are more scammers than police, so it's hard not to be on guard. Since you claim it's free, go ahead and tell me. I'll at least hear you out."
After nodding, Matthew went straight to the point and shared about the treatment. "The first thing you can do is massage your acupoints, including GV14, LI11, ST36, and LR3. If you're not familiar with these acupoints, just look them up on your phone.
"Next, eat more celery. If you have time, spend a few bucks on a juicier and make celery juice. Also, try giving yourself a foot spa before bed. Keep the water a little warm but not so hot that it burns.
"The last tip is a homemade ointment. I'll send you the ingredients, so take note of it. After collecting the ingredients, grind them into a powder and mix it with vinegar, then apply it to the soles of your feet.
"Also, get to bed early. Keep a calm mind, and make sure you're sleeping well."
Nolan attentively listened. When Matthew stopped talking, he looked like he wanted more. "Is that it?"
Matthew nodded. "That's all."
Nolan gestured at the entrance. "If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving."
Matthew waved his hand. "Go ahead."
Nolan turned around and briskly walked out of the restaurant.
Matthew furrowed his brows. Did Nolan just leave like that? He didn't even say thank you.
Nolan didn't seem to have taken Matthew's words seriously, so Matthew couldn't help but sigh. What a waste of time.noveldrama
Tony sighed as well. "Looks like he didn't believe you at all. What a shame."
Matthew was perplexed. "Why?"
Tony clucked his tongue and didn't say a word. He planned to lower Nolan's blood pressure with a massage to gain Nolan's trust. Then, he'd give Nolan a remedy for blood pressure, convincing Nolan to pay for their pasta.
But Matthew blew such a great opportunity. What a waste.
Noticing Tony's silence, Matthew nudged his arm and repeated his question, "What's so regrettable about it? Come on. Tell me."
Tony felt embarrassed to bring up the idea of Nolan treating them, so he just changed the subject. "Too bad that your kindness went unappreciated. Nolan just brushed it off like it was nothing."
What do you think?
