Chapter 844
The sight of Matthew murdering people flashed across Darius' mind. He had witnessed how Matthew ended a person's life with just a single punch, and he had slaughtered multitudes of people with the same technique as the Grim Reaper.
Just thinking about it made him feel as if his head was about to burst, and when he saw how Allen brushed him off, he couldn't help but remind him again, "He's really strong."
Darius' voice was trembling a little when he said that, and Allen glanced at him disdainfully. "Looks like you know nothing about my skills."
Having heard that, Darius stared at Allen curiously. He had little to no information about this brother-in-law of his, and he only knew bits and pieces from what Karina had told him about Allen.
She had said that Allen was training in some sort of combat somewhere but never said what sort of style he learned, nor had she ever stated how good he was. Still, Darius thought that Allen wasn't Matthew's match.
He couldn't explain it exactly, but his intuition made him believe so. Since it directly involved matters regarding life and death, Darius didn't care if he'd end up hurting Allen's ego and said frankly, "He's really strong."
Darius remembered how Matthew could crack people's bones with just a single punch, and he felt fear creep into his heart when he recalled the sound of bones cracking.
Allen raised the corner of his lips with a hint of coldness and suddenly took action.
A streak of light flashed past Darius' eyes, and he looked at Allen doubtfully. He seemed to have felt a slight breeze go over his head earlier, but it went by as fast as it came.
Seeing the hilt Allen was holding, Darius asked in confusion, "Did you draw your hilt earlier?"
The moment he said that, he felt as if his vision was blocked, so he reached his hand up to brush off his hair. In an instant, he saw the front lock of his hair drifting past his eyes and falling to the floor.
Darius stared stunned at the hair on the ground, looking back up at Allen in shock. "You... Did you just chop off my hair?"
Allen scoffed in disdain. "Idiot, you would've long been dead if I wanted to kill you."
His response made Darius go pale. He felt as if he had just taken a stroll in hell. Compared to Matthew's bone-breaking punches, the technique Allen possessed was far more terrifying, for he didn't see the hilt coming at him.
Darius couldn't help but sigh. "You're so fast!"
Allen then replied proudly, "If I wanted to kill you, you wouldn't even feel any pain when I do it."
Darius lifted his hand to touch the part of his hair that Allen had cut off, the ends of the hair prickling him. It sent a chill down his spine. He hadn't believed Allen earlier when he said that he could kill without needing to unsheath his hilt, but Darius truly believed him now.
After he took a deep breath, Darius regained his composure and said, "C'mon, let's head to Suncroft Village!"
There were three cars pulling into Suncroft Village, and they switched on their headlights, illuminating the dark village roads brightly. Then, the cars parked by one of the yards, and a bunch of men got out of the cars.
Darius took the lead and stood at the very front as he pointed to the gate of the yard. "This is the one."
Immediately, Allen waved at the men and signaled for two men to hold the gates of the yard open while the rest of them followed him in. The yard was extremely dark, and they could barely see their surroundings. The only source of light came from inside the house.
Allen said to Darius, "Lead the way."
Initially, Darius wanted to reject his request, but he didn't dare to say so. Thus, he braced himself and led them to the house. He walked very slowly and lightly on his toes, as if he were a thief who had come to steal.
Once they were at the door, Darius stopped walking and turned to look at Allen. He saw the ferocious expression on Allen's face as he glared at him. Darius opened the door halfway through, sneaking into the house.
The house was lit with very yellow and old-fashioned light bulbs, but they could still see their surroundings very clearly. It was a mess in the house, and there were draft papers and cardboard boxes littered all over the floor, with line after line of words squeezed into those papers.
When he came over for the first time a few years ago, Darius was really taken aback by the condition of the house. However, he was even more astonished now that he took in the sight for the second time.
He thought that Tony had gone crazy for being so persistent about completing his medical license exam.
There was a chair in the house as well. Tony was sitting on it and staring straight at him. However, Matthew wasn't there!
Seeing that, Darius felt more at ease, and his nerves calmed down. He then smiled and greeted, "I'm here, Uncle Tony. You can give me the medical literature."
But there was a complicated expression on Tony's face. "Darius, I'll hand the medical literature over to you, but you must first tell me why you need this medical literature so badly."noveldrama
