The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 86

"That's right. Ana already agreed to form a contract with me," Finlay grinned, flashing a row of perfectly white teeth that annoyed Scott to no end.

Scott turned to look at Analise.

Analise nodded slightly, making no attempt to deny the matter.

Scott had thought Finlay just held a slightly higher place in Analise's heart. He hadn't expected them to have come this far already.

"What about me? Can I form a bond with you as well?" Scott's voice was quiet, tinged with bitterness.

"Didn't you say you'd be busy for some time once you're back at the Stormclaw Alliance?" Analise didn't reject him, but she didn't give him a clear answer either.

"Well... Yes." Scott nodded.

With the subject changed so quickly, his confidence faltered again.

He didn't bring up the topic about forming a contract again and instead made up an excuse to head to the front cabin. But deep down, he was already sulking.

After he left, Analise raised an eyebrow at Finlay. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"

"No, I just... I didn't expect Scott to follow us over suddenly." Finlay scratched his head, watching Analise's expression. He thought his action upset her.

"Are you mad at me, Ana?" Finlay took her hand, looking straight at her. "I just wanted to form a contract with you sooner. I know I'm not as strong as the others..."

"So, this wasn't your tactician's idea?" Analise wasn't actually angry.

But Scott had walked in at the worst possible time.

Although he would have found out eventually, his learning the news this way

made the whole thing feel strangely illicit, like they'd been caught doing something sneaky...

At the end of the day, the issue was with her moral compass from her original world.

If she had been born in the Interstellar therian world, she wouldn't have to worry about this. After all, the people in this world embraced the idea of polyandry.

What a perfect solution!

"No!" Finlay pouted and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I just thought, since we're going back to the Stormclaw Alliance tomorrow, I want

to form a contract with you the moment we return.

"But if we don't form a contract,

once you have two mates, I'll lose

my role as your guardian. Then won't be able to stay with you anymore..." Finlay explained earnestly.

He didn't hide the insecurity he felt from having lower mind essence, voicing everything out honestly.

"I already said yes, didn't I? Of course, I'll form a contract with you. You're the cutest little wolf to me. Why wouldn't I like you?"

Analise punched his therian ears and gave them a gentle rub. Then, she stood on her toes and gave him a gentle peck on the lips.

"Ana..." Finlay's eyes glistened. He lowered his head and kissed her back.

As they kissed, Analise tasted something cool and salty. She opened her eyes and realized he was crying.

She braced a hand against his chest and gently wiped away the tears still clinging to the corners of his eyes. "Why are you crying?"

Finlay didn't answer. He just held her tightly like a wronged child and sobbed quietly.

Analise didn't stop him. She simply patted his back, comforting him.

It took a long while before Finlay finally let go and flashed a sheepish smile.

"All done crying?" Analise lightly scraped her finger down his nose. "Since when were you such a crybaby?"

"I'm not..." Finlay looked away.

"Alright, alright. Done crying now?" Analies pinched his cheek. "I'm hungry!"

Finlay wiped the remaining tears from his face and nodded, heading to the supply cabin.

As for Analise, she acted like nothing had happened and strolled off to the front cabin.
