Chapter 1840
Noticing Melon, Moss weakly motioned him over, saying, Come here.
Without a second thought, Melon rushed to Moss side and, seeing him drenched in blood, asked in alarm, Moss, are you okay? Moss gave no reply to Melon.
Blood trickled from his fingertips and splattered onto the deck, yet he made no sound of pain.
His jaw clenched tightly, and his lips paled to white as he bore the severe pain, with sweat forming on his brow.
Noticing this, Melon moved closer, wanting to offer comfort, but Moss seized his wrist.
Listen, the people chasing us are all dead.
I need to rest now.
You can do whatever you like.
If youre hungry, theres food in the storage below the cabin.
Moss inhaled deeply, struggling to remain conscious despite his injury. He spoke with difficulty, teeth gritted.noveldrama
And-youre free now.
If you wish to go home, then go.
Youre clever; youll figure out how to get back.
Blood from Moss fingertips began to flow more rapidly, staining the deck.
He avoided looking at his wound.
Instead, his gaze rested intently on Melons clear, innocent eyes.
Recently, they had spent much time together, and Melon had brought laughter to his otherwise boring existence.
Knowing his injury was grave, he was offering his final advice to Melon.
After speaking, Moss released Melons wrist, settled himself more comfortably, and closed his eyes.
Melon, however, was too absorbed in watching the blood to fully grasp what Moss had said.
Seeing Moss lie still, eyes shut, Melon feared the worst.Panic-stricken, he screamed and reached out with a shaking hand to check Moss breathing, praying desperately that he was still alive.
Relief washed over Melon when he detected a faint breath from Moss, confirming he was just unconscious, not dead.
Quickly, Melon removed Moss blood-drenched shirt to inspect his wound, silently hoping it wasnt located over the heart.
A bullet wound to the heart would surely be fatal.
Melon discovered that there was no wound on Moss chest.
He traced the blood upward, eventually discovering that Moss had been shot in the shoulder.
The wound seemed a deep abyss, from which blood continuously flowed.
Fear clouded Melons expression.
Not yet six years old and raised in a caring environment, he was unprepared to face a situation like this, even though Moss was technically his kidnapper. Melon clutched Moss hand tightly, tears streaming quietly down his face as he pondered his next actions.
Despite his youth, Melon recognized the kindness in Moss.
While on the island, Moss had cared for and protected him, teaching him a lot.
Without Moss, his cruel uncle Zayden would likely have killed him already.
Determined to help Moss, Melon sniffed, wiped away his tears, and rushed into the cabin.
The cabin was well-stocked with a bar full of fruits and snacks.
Hunger gnawed at Melon since he hadnt eaten since the escape, but he pushed it aside, frantically searching for a medical kit to attend to Moss, fearful that Moss might bleed to death.
He soon returned to Moss side with the medical kit.
Inexperienced in medical treatment, he awkwardly applied various powders and ointment to the wound, hoping to stop the bleeding.
After exhausting the powders and bandages, Melon ascended the control panel, mimicking Moss previous maneuvers to navigate the ship.
What do you think?
