Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren)

Chapter 259

"Mrs. Zachman, please don't make this difficult for us. You know Mr. Zachman's temper. Even if you don't leave with us tonight, he'll send someone else eventually," Robert pleaded.

Katrina looked at the men in front of her and knew that there was no way she could get away by force. She demanded, "Then, give me your phone. I'll call Carlisle myself and talk to him."

"Well..." Robert hesitated somewhat.

Katrina kept her gaze locked on her phone, which sat just a short distance away. If she could get her hands on it, she could call the police or have the apartment management come and force them out.

But her hopes were quickly dashed. Robert pulled out his phone after a brief hesitation and called Carlisle.

He was clearly wary of Katrina using his phone to call the police, so he didn't hand it to her. Instead, he put the call on speaker and held the phone in his hand. "Mrs. Zachman, this is the only way I can let you use my phone. I hope you understand."

Katrina hadn't expected him to be so cautious, and her expression was grim. "I need to speak with him in private. It's not something you should be listening to, so give me the phone."

Robert paused for a second but ultimately shook his head and refused. Just then, the call connected.

"Mr. Zachman, Mrs. Zachman wishes to speak with you," Robert said immediately.

As soon as the call connected, Katrina wasted no time and demanded, "Carlisle, what's the meaning of this? I told you I'm not going back. Even if you drag me back, there's nothing to talk about, and I won't compromise anymore."

"Katrina, I've already said we should sit down and talk things through. You've been misbehaving lately, and I'm very unhappy about it." Carlisle sounded both displeased and confident, as if he already had the upper hand.

He continued, "You had better go with them quietly. I don't want any more nonsense from you."

"Carlisle Zachman, you—"

Carlisle cut her off before she could finish and ordered Robert, "Make sure you

bring her back. If you fail, don't bother coming back, either."noveldrama

With that, he hung up.

Staring at the call screen that showed the line was disconnected, Robert turned to look at Katrina helplessly. "Mrs. Zachman, you. heard him. We can't disobey orders. If you still refuse to cooperate, we'll have no choice but to do this the hard way."

Katrina glanced at the strong, young men before her. She did not doubt that if she resisted, they wouldn't hesitate to drag her back by force. She took a deep breath and

requested, "Then, let me to

my room and change-"

"No," Robert refused immediately without even giving it a second thought. He was

clearly worried Katrina might try something funny.

One of the men even stepped forward and grabbed her phone off the table. He

said, "I'll hold onto your phone for now. Once you see Mr. Zachman, we'll return it to you."

They were highly vigilant and would never give her the chance to call for help.

As expected, she didn't come across a single person she could ask for aid on the way down to the basement parking. And no matter where they walked, the bodyguards kept her surrounded, leaving her no chance to escape.

Katrina had no choice but to wait and see, and she followed them into the car. After they left her apartment complex and made several turns, Katrina sensed something was off.

She immediately looked at Robert, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, and asked, "This isn't the way to the Zachman residence. Where are you taking me?"

He quickly explained when he noticed her cautious and suspicious glare, "Please don't worry, Mrs. Zachman. We're just following Mr. Zachman's instructions to take you to him. We mean you no harm."

But how could Katrina possibly feel at ease? Carlisle had sent his men to look for her and forcibly take her away, and now they weren't even bringing her back to the Zachman residence. What on earth was he trying to do?

Was it because of the property division in the divorce agreement? Could Carlisle be planning something against her?
