Violet seemed to anticipate such a reaction on his part and let out a snort, “What’s that? You shameless third wheel, are you saying that a victim has no right to express her opinions? It would be best if Joseph could see your despicable face while he is thinking that you are a capable and virtuous person. He must be thinking that you want to become his son’s stepmother willingly! You have an illegitimate daughter by an unknown father, and yet you have set your eyes on the betrothed of another. It is an understatement to call her a shameless woman.”

“Miss Kidman.” Suddenly, Hayden looked a step toward Violet and his face darkened, “Let me warn you to be careful what you say. Do you understand human language?”

Violet was intimidated by the cold light in Hayden’s eyes. She couldn’t help but take a step back as she forced herself to respond, “What are you doing, are you going to raise your hand to hit me?”

Hayden looked at her coldly, “I haven’t done anything yet, but you think I want to hit you. Your imagination is filling in the blanks. While I was in Maldives for work purposes, you were imagining that I was scheming plans to snatch your fiancé away from you. You should look inside yourself for the reason why your fiancé decided to end his engagement instead of blaming and taking your anger out on someone else. I don’t have time to talk nonsense with you.”

After saying that, he shot a cold glare at Violet without holding back before turning and heading for the door.

“Stop right there.” Violet became completely flustered.

“And one more thing.” Hayden gripped the doorknob and she didn’t even look back, “I recorded your speech when you were scolding me just now, and even though it can’t become meaningful evidence, it would still be a threat to you if I uploaded it to the Internet, wouldn’t it?”

“You…” Violet’s face had turned a different color due to her anger, but she managed to swallow the words she intended to use to scold Hayden.

With a loud slam of the door, Hayden stood still in the hallway as he let out a sigh slowly. Her thoughts and heart were muddled at that moment.

Seeing that Hayden had returned to his office, Jeff hurried to dispose of what was in his hand and approached with concern, “A moment ago, when Violet called you to discuss something, I noticed that you weren’t very happy. Is something going on between you two?”

“Have you finished your chores, how can you be so nosy as a woman?”. Hayden rolled his eyes, “If you’re bored being my assistant, I can give this opportunity to the new intern to fill in for you.”

“Don’t.” Jeff immediately shut up as he replied in a flattering tone, “I’m just worried about you, Miss Downey, since you’re so close to Mr. Beckham, it’s no wonder Violet, who is his fiancée, is worried about you.”

Hearing that, Hayden turned around and showed a poker face, which would send a shiver down anyone’s spine, “Jeff, you seem to have a lot on your mind? Since when am I friends with Mr. Beckham, and why would anyone have anything to say about it?”.

“Then it must be the Young Lord of the Beckham Family who is bothering you nonstop. I was just making a casual comment. Everyone knows she has a daughter, so there’s no way it has anything to do with Mr. Beckham.” Jeff gave a wry smile.

Hayden furrowed his eyebrows and, with a serious expression, ordered, “That’s enough, stop your careless comments. These next two days, the production team will be moving into our building, please take care of security work in various areas of the building. Remember to prevent the infiltration of any fanatics.”

“Understood, got it.”

After returning to his office, Hayden closed the door and pursed his lips in disgust as he muttered, “Fiancée? Who said she was official? This guy has too much time and only knows how to believe unsubstantiated rumors.”

In the afternoon, Stella and Noah were in a daze in the break room.

“Noah, I feel so bored.”

After staying in the break room for a whole day and finishing their meals here, Stella was feeling extremely bored.

Noah was fiddling with a Rubik’s cube that he had messed up and solved countless times. He blinked as he thought it wasn’t too boring for him.

Stella sat on the couch and sighed, “Noah, if I had known that when Mom started working we would be so bored, I would have stayed home. At least I’d have plenty of toys to amuse me and I could even watch some TV.”

Noah scratched his head, a little lost. In his experience, no one had taught him what to do if his sister got bored.

With light knocks on the door, Stella’s monotone monotone was interrupted.

“May I come in?” A gap appeared in the door and a husky, gravelly voice sounded through it.

Stella searched for the source of the voice and her eyes lit up. “Benjamin.”noveldrama

Sensing that Stella’s mood had taken a turn for the better, Noah stood transfixed for a moment before casting a questioning glance at the visitor.

The visitor was none other than Benjamin, who used to stay at the N-City hospital for more than a week. Hayden used to take Stella with him when he visited, so the two knew each other quite well.

Although Benjamin had mild amnesia, as his age was not too advanced, he would always come up with peculiar but exciting ideas to brighten the children’s spirits.

Benjamin was squinting his eyes and had a bright smile on his face. He finished entering the room matter-of-factly and lifted Stella off the floor, “You haven’t come to see me while you’re here, are we still good friends?”

Stella blinked. “I forgot to. Benjamin, I’m so bored right now, is there anything I can have fun with?”.

“That’s easy, let me take you to have fun.”

“Really?” Stella’s eyes lit up, “Can we do that?”.

Just as Benjamin was about to nod, he suddenly felt something grab his pants, looking down, he saw Noah grab his pants and look at him warily.

“Looks like this little buddy is objecting to me taking you out.” Benjamin tapped Stella on the nose as he put her back down. He said mockingly, “He probably thinks I’m going to sell you out.”

Hearing that, Stella tugged on Noah’s shirt, “Noah, Benjamin’s not a bad guy. Didn’t you meet him yesterday at the hospital? Benjamin is Mom’s friend, we’re very close.”

Noah sighed helplessly inside as he remembered the butler’s words about the beginning and end of the whole incident. This person is not a good friend of mommy’s, he is only close to her because of the problem left after the accident. Stella is being too naive.

With a feeling of helplessness, she could only write something on the board, “[Mommy wants us to stay here and not go anywhere].”

She pressed the voice call function and her words were transformed into a mechanical voice that could be understood by Stella.

When she heard that, Stella looked a little disappointed. She looked at Benjamin dejectedly, “It’s okay. Benjamin, mom doesn’t allow us to just go anywhere.”

Benjamin patted her head and smiled, “You don’t have to look so glum. It will be dinnertime soon, and I’m planning to take you and your mommy out to eat.”

“Where are we going?” Stella immediately snapped back to life, “I want to eat fried chicken.”

“No problem, you can choose whatever you want. You’ll like the food no doubt.” As she said that, she looked at Noah meaningfully, “Little boy, are you coming with us?”.

Noah furrowed his eyebrows, he looked like someone very mature.

For some reason, he had a feeling that this Benjamin was up to something wicked behind his back.
