Chapter 109
Chapter 109:.
Benjamin lingered in the break room for a while and it was almost time for Hayden to get off work. He came into the break room to get the kids.
“They’re here.” Hayden smiled at the sight of Benjamin. “Jeff told me you went to the Megacenter for Higher Education, did you learn anything there?”.
Benjamin shook his head. “I got some impression of that place based on what you told me, but I still don’t remember anything.”
A glint of disappointment appeared in Hayden’s eyes, but he still tried to comfort Benjamin, “Is that so? It’s okay. The Megacenter for Higher Education isn’t that big anyway; let’s go there over the weekend.”
Benjamin smiled and implied people were not so worried about him regaining his memories and returning to his identity.

“We’ll have dinner together tonight. I’ve seen a place.”
“Agreed.”
Seeing that Hayden had accepted his proposition so quickly, Noah’s expression changed drastically. He hurriedly wrote a sentence on the drawing board before holding it up for Hayden to see, “[Aren’t we going to my place?”]
Hayden patted his head as he explained, “We were originally going to go to your house, but in the afternoon I got a call from the butler and he told me that your father is going on a business trip in the evening, so he won’t be home. I can’t be unconcerned if you and Stella are going to sleep there alone, so tonight you’re coming with me to my house and I’ll take you to yours first thing tomorrow morning.”
When he heard that, Noah’s brow furrowed.
At that critical moment, how could his father go on a business trip? Was he so carefree and confident?
Although he was not satisfied with his situation, he could only follow them to dinner. However, when he arrived at the dinner venue, Noah couldn’t help but open his eyes.
In the crowded night market of the Megacenter for Higher Education, young people could be seen coming and going through the streets. A strong smell of smoke hung over the stalls, which caught Stella’s attention.
“Wow, what a hustle and bustle it is here!”.
Hayden heard Stella’s exclamation and also lamented, “It’s been years since I’ve visited a night market. How were you able to find this place?”
“Somewhere in my memory I remember a place like this.” There was a faint smile on Benjamin’s face, “I can’t remember who I came here with, however, I have a feeling that this is a place I would have frequented in the past. So I decided to bring you here, I remember there is a rather hygienic stall, and business is always good.”
Hayden looked as if something was catching his eye as he asked, “Don’t tell me you’re talking about Donna’s Barbecue Lady?”
“How do you know that?” Benjamin startled for a second.
“Six years ago, when I was in medical school at the Megacenter for Higher Education, that stand was the most famous one around here. I hear it’s always active, but too bad, I never find time to visit it.”
“Then this time, you can fulfill that wish.” Benjamin stepped in, and they all started walking towards the stalls.
It was not yet dark, but all the stalls were lit up and people were crowding the streets. They were lucky that they still had seats for them, as they had not arrived at a very late hour.noveldrama
Benjamin ordered a few dishes without any problems and handed the menu to a waiter: “In addition to the skewers, give me two beef noodles for the kids. Make sure they are not too big and not too spicy.”
When the waiter had left, Benjamin turned and looked at Hayden. He saw that he was scanning around him. His curiosity was as strong as Stella’s.
“Haven’t you come to a night market like this in the past?”
“That’s right.” Hayden turned around and flashed a shy smile, “But I don’t have many friends in the country, and the few I have don’t like to come to these kinds of places. I really wanted to come here, but I didn’t get the chance because I was alone the whole time.”
Now that she was bringing up the past, she could finally say it casually and without sentiment. However, she had repressed many of her feelings for all those years.
In the past, when she was in N-Town, because of Chelsea, no one at school dared to befriend her, so she was used to being alone since she was young. Only when she was studying at the university, which was not where Chelsea studied, was she able to make a friend, but unfortunately, the supposed best friend she had made during those years turned out to be a third wheel who had gotten in the way of her first love.
When Benjamin saw the forlorn and lonely expression on Hayden’s face, he could somehow identify with it, as if he had had a similar childhood. “I don’t think I have many friends either.” He was quite blunt, “Or else we would have heard of news stories where people were looking for me after I’d been lost for so long.”
“It’s okay, take it easy.”
After some harmless conversation, the waiter slowly served their plates.
“The chicken wings they sell here are also delicious. Stella, don’t you want to eat that? You can try this.”
“It’s okay, she never worries about what she eats, so it’s okay for her to eat this once in a while.” Hayden pointed to a chicken wing from the skewer and put it on Stella’s plate, “Come eat some.”
“I’m not worried about Stella. I’m more worried about this Young Master.” Benjamin looked at Noah meaningfully, “He looks like he’s never eaten anything from a street stand. He must be feeling very lost.”
Hayden looked at Noah and saw that he didn’t have a cheerful expression on his face, and the bowl of beef noodles in front of him was untouched. He didn’t seem very interested in the skewers on the table either.
“What’s the matter, Noah, don’t you feel like eating?” Hayden looked worried.
Noah shook his head and wrote a line on the board, “[I want to eat the noodles you make].”
Hayden patted his head helplessly, “Okay, I’ll make you one when we get home. But it’s time for dinner now, can you eat something to fill your stomach? We’ll soon be done with this and we can go back.”
Hearing that, Noah forced himself to nod and began to sink his teeth into the noodles.
Noah had been spoiled since he was little, so it was only natural that he couldn’t get used to eating in a hot, noisy environment like this stall. Hayden understood perfectly, and although he wanted to finish this meal as soon as possible so they could leave, Stella was having a great time digging into his food. Things nearly got out of hand and in the end they took a package of chicken wings before leaving.
After dinner, Hayden took Benjamin back to the hotel before heading home with the kids.
When they got home, he prepared some noodles for Noah, but Noah didn’t seem to have much of an appetite. He had only finished half of the noodles before he put down his chopsticks.
When it was midnight, Hayden was rudely awakened by Stella.
“Mom! Mom, something’s wrong.”
She sat up in bed half-asleep, “What’s wrong?”
“Noah has a stomachache and has rolled off the bed onto the floor.”
Hearing that, Hayden could feel his senses awaken almost instantly. He got out of bed and ran to Noah’s room.
Noah was curled up on the floor, and she almost had a heart attack when she saw that tiny figure on the floor.
“Noah, Noah…”
She put her hand on his forehead and realized that his body was scorching hot. Just as she wanted to take him in her arms, he threw up on her.
“Mom, what’s going on?” Stella was deathly pale from shock, and her voice was barely audible.
“Stella, you stay here alone, okay? Go sleep in my room. Mommy has to take Noah to the hospital.”
“I’ll go with you.”
“Listen to me this time.”
After giving Stella a few reminders, Hayden carried Noah to the car without changing clothes. He sped to the hospital and as he waited outside the emergency operating room, the Beckham Family butler arrived in a hurry.
“What’s the matter with the little lord, wasn’t she fine when I saw her in the afternoon?”.
Hayden made an apologetic face, “The truth is, I don’t know either. Seeing that she is vomiting, it must be because she has eaten unsanitary food. When we went to a street stall for dinner at night, he had eaten some noodles, but it wasn’t much. He shouldn’t have vomited because of that.”
“A street stall?” The butler’s face changed instantly, “How could you let the little lord eat at a street stall?”
