Chapter 110
Chapter 110:.
“Little Noah has a sensitive gastric and can’t eat those unhygienic foods. Miss Downey, how could you be so irresponsible, how am I going to answer to the little lord?”.
Hayden made no attempt to explain herself in the face of Mark’s reproach, but she felt very remorseful and said, “Rest assured that I will personally apologize to Mr. Beckham for being negligent of me.”
Seeing her remorseful expression, Mark did not know what to say next. He let out a long sigh and went off to the side to make a call to Joseph.
The emergency room doctor arranged for Noah to be admitted for further observations to find out if it was just an upset stomach from eating some unsanitary food or was due to some other ailment.
Noah’s condition had improved considerably after an injection and he had fallen asleep.
Hayden stayed at the hospital to care for Noah. He kept blaming himself as he continued to watch him sleep. She didn’t spend much time with him and yet something like this was happening. She was an incompetent mother. Would Noah blame her someday when he found out she was his birth mother?
He didn’t sleep all night and went home before dawn and made breakfast. He made sure Stella ate breakfast and filled a container with breakfast before heading back to the hospital.
Just as he was about to enter the patient’s room, he heard a familiar voice coming from the room. Hayden paused as he opened the door and his grip tightened.
“I stopped what I was doing and came running as soon as I heard Noah was hospitalized. I even brought breakfast for Noah. I supervised the preparation of the breakfast by my maid and I can guarantee there is nothing unhygienic about it.” Violet said with a tone that could give anyone goose bumps.
Joseph calmly replied, “Thank you for caring.”

“Come, Noah, I’ll feed you.”
I could clearly see from the doorway that Joseph and Violet were sitting on either side of Noah. Violet was holding a bowl of mush and was lovingly feeding Noah.
Hayden paused in the doorway and felt an emptiness inside. He turned and left.
In the room, Noah reluctantly took two bites of the mush and then began to shake his head.
Violet looked at Joseph out of the corner of her eye and said, Your stomach must still be upset, I’ll leave it here. Let me know when you’re hungry and I’ll feed you.”
Noah’s shoulders slumped with apprehension for her. His little hand came out from under the blanket to tug at Joseph’s sleeve.
Joseph took his hand and asked, “What’s the matter, are you still feeling sick?”
Noah shook his head and looked toward the door.
“He didn’t come.” Joseph knew what he was thinking and frowned as he answered.
It was debatable whether it was food poisoning. But when he arrived in the morning, he saw Noah looking weak lying alone in bed. Joseph was angry to see that there was no one accompanying Noah.
Hayden had not given birth to Noah and so could treat him so casually. If it was his daughter in the hospital bed, he was sure he wouldn’t be separated from his daughter by a millimeter. How could he leave such a small child alone in the hospital?
As she pondered, Violet said, “I heard that last night Hayden took little Noah to eat at the night market. Those places are very dirty and unsanitary. How could he take a child to eat in that kind of place?”
Joseph heard Mark mention this, but was even more frustrated when he heard it again. His frown clearly revealed his disdain for this incident.
As soon as Noah saw his expression, he quickly wrote on the board, “[It wasn’t Hayden who took me there. The place where we ate was Benjamin’s choice].”
He wanted to help Hayden out of trouble, but instead it caused him more trouble. When Joseph saw the word ‘Benjamin,’ it stung his eyes and made his expression immediately darken.
Violet watched off to the side and was glad to see Joseph’s reaction. Her eyes swept over the place and settled on Noah with a sinister look. If she wanted Joseph back with her, she would have to work with this little guy. Only in front of this imp would Joseph be especially attentive.
Joseph spent a little more time with Noah before looking at the time and instructing him to get a good night’s rest. When Violet continued to assure him that she would take care of Noah, he finally got up and left.
As she left the patient’s room, she saw a familiar figure that looked especially haggard sitting on the couch in the hallway. Hayden quickly got up and felt very uncomfortable when she saw him leave the room.
Joseph frowned as he sounded cold and distant, “When did you come in?”
“A few minutes ago.” Hayden held up a container and said, “I wanted to bring Noah his breakfast, but I saw you were inside and didn’t want to interrupt. Has Noah had his breakfast?”
Joseph glanced at the container in his hands and replied coldly, “Yes.”
“I apologize profusely for what happened to Noah.” Hayden lowered his head and didn’t dare look Joseph in the eye as he said softly, “But I’ll take good care of him until he recovers, I’ve asked for leave from the company.”
But the more he apologized, the more he gave Joseph the impression that he felt guilty about what he had done. Even when the truth of the matter had not been established, Joseph was already angry and said, “It’s not necessary. You’re too busy lately having to take care of your daughter and a person who came from who knows where. You won’t have the mind to take good care of Noah. Besides, Noah already has someone to take care of him.”
Hayden clenched his fists and raised his head as he wanted to say something else, but saw that Joseph had already walked away. He gave her virtually no chance to explain herself.
What made her feel even more lost was the realization that she had nothing to justify herself.
Noah was hospitalized because of her and she could understand Joseph being angry at her because even she was angry at herself. Noah had a sheltered and privileged life growing up with Joseph, how could she be so foolish as to take him out to eat at a street food stand?
On the other end, Violet was in the patient’s room taking care of Noah and clearly heard the conversation.
Knock, knock
Someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.” Before the door opened, Violet put on sunglasses and a face shield to avoid trouble.noveldrama
“Where’s the patient’s family?” The doctor opened the door, looked around and asked Violet when he didn’t see Joseph.
“He just stepped out, what’s going on?” Violet asked, the mask covering her face and muffling her voice.
The doctor didn’t acknowledge her and said nonchalantly, “The tests are back. This child has not been poisoned, it was a viral reaction due to the fever that caused the vomiting and diarrhea. He will be discharged in the afternoon.
Violet frowned and clenched her fists at this, but pretended to be relieved, “Oh, that’s good news, I’ll tell his father. Thank you, doctor.”
“Don’t worry.” The doctor smiled and left the room.
Only Noah’s eyes emerged from the blanket and he shrank even more as Violet leaned closer to him.
